About UsAn End of Life Doula is a support person who exists between the medical world and the funeral world, to help an individual and their family to plan and/or experience an end of life journey that respects the individual's Expressed Wishes and values. We aim to help reduce unnecessary suffering in a time when there is suffering beyond your control.
It's about ensuring we do our utmost to comfort, care, demystify, support, advocate, educate, assist, plan, respect, provide respite, and just be there for you and your family during a time that is likely emotionally and physically difficult. |
Jennifer Timer, MSN, an End of Life Doula, Certified Professional Counsellor, and Certified Grief and Bereavement Counsellor based out of Coquitlam, BC has spent decades caring for individuals’ physical and mental health. Now, after being a nurse for over 20 years, she is focused on helping people and their families to cope and be at peace at any stage of life.
I provide peace of mind, comfort, and coping skills to individuals and families to plan ahead for or currently experience an end of life journey that respects their wishes, values, and beliefs. One of my primary duties as an End of Life Doula is to provide care and detailed planning informed by my twenty years of being a nurse. When creating your living will (aka advance directives), I help you consider and plan for all the little things, both physical and emotional, that will help you enjoy life until the end of your days. With experience in the caring professions, from psychology to nursing (including working in ICU), I am uniquely suited to work with you as you navigate through your or your loved one's end of life journey, advance care planning, grief, bereavement, or health-related concerns. I also counsel First Responders and healthcare professionals, and I work with any population with depression and anxiety.
