August 11, 2022—Extreme Heat Fire Prevention Awareness Event Tri-Cities Seniors’ Action Society & Port Moody Fire-Rescue are co-sponsoring “Extreme Heat-Fire Prevention Awareness” event on August 11 at 1:30 pm at the park across from the Port Moody Inlet Centre. Misting tent & goodies will be shared. August 19 or September 16, 2022—Taste of Terraces Terraces on Seventh Retirement Living Community is hosting the ‘Taste of Terraces” with a couple of spots still available for August 19 or September 16 from 1-2:30 pm. August 21, 2022—Taste of Terraces Terraces on Seventh Retirement Living Community is also hosting the “Tapas on the Terrace” event on August 21 from 3-4:30 pm. September 15, 2022—Open House at AgeCare Harmony Court Estate This end-of-summer event will begin at 2pm and end around 4pm. There will be food, beverages, entertainment, and prizes, followed by tours of the suites. The Coquitlam Crunch Challenge, on June 11th, is a community athletic event centred around the Coquitlam Crunch hiking trail, located by Lansdowne Dr and Guilford Way. 100% of registration proceeds will go to the Coquitlam Foundation's Community Diversity Fund. Events to choose from: - The Stair Master (8:00 am) - Run up the 437 west stairs at the Coquitlam Crunch just above Lansdowne as quickly as possible. - Make It Or Break It (9:00 am) - Walk/run up and down the 4.5 km loop of the Coquitlam Crunch as many times possible in a 4-hour period. - The Recreational Category (10:00 am) - Come out, get some exercise and enjoy the day. Try to complete the Coquitlam Crunch at least once or even twice in four hours. For families and others who would like to support the event and/or pursue their own personal best. This event is perfect for community groups or for the whole family and offers a great workout in a fun, light-hearted atmosphere. We are pet-friendly! Dogs on leashes are welcome.
